This year our annual Week of Guided Prayer in Lent will take place from Sunday 29 March to Saturday 4 April. This “retreat” experience will be based on our favourite stories from the Bible and will lead us beautifully into Holy Week. It is designed to give us an opportunity to grow in our relationship with God who is part of our daily lives and to help us to deepen our personal prayer.
Experienced Prayer Guides will come to the Parish to meet participants for half an hour each day to gently accompany us as we reflect on a piece of Scripture. No previous experience is required and everyone is welcome.
The Week of Guided Prayer is not only for those who meet the Prayer Guides, it is for everyone. Some parishioners may like to volunteer to make tea and coffee in the afternoons for Prayer Guides and participants. Some may volunteer to attend the Blessed Sacrament exposed for Adoration every day from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Some may prefer to pray quietly at home. Whatever you decide, it will be an experience of the whole Parish in prayer together in preparation for Holy Week and Easter.
In order to organise the allocation of Prayer Guides, it will be necessary to register to participate by Thursday 12 March. Registration forms are available in the Parish Office, Sacristy and at the Contact Point in the Church. Please return completed forms to Maeve Davidson.
