So saddened to hear of the passing of Fr. Ciaran. He was always such a gentle, kind, soft-spoken man who dedicated his life to God and worked incredibly hard. We have wonderful memories of him baptizing our two girls in 2007 and 2009. A wonderful human being. The world will miss his beautiful soul. May he Rest In Peace.
Our deepest condolences on the sad passing of our beloved Father Ciarán. His kindness, humility and integrity were exemplified by his great love of children, and also, his reluctance to be addressed as ‘Archdeacon’, or even ‘Canon’, when elevated to these positions. A true Pastor, with ‘the smell of the sheep’, in the words of Pope Francis, his homilies displayed an abundance of wisdom and sound catechesis. We first became acquainted with Father Ciarán many years ago – then a young and vibrant curate in the Parish of St. John Vianney, Ardlea Road, in Artane, where he also endeared himself to all. May his gentle soul rest in God’s everlasting peace. Go raibh leaba aige i measc na Naomh go deo na ndeór.
Rest In Peace Fr. Ciaran. A lovely priest.

Fr Ciaran did my confirmation in 2006. I never forgot his kindness at a difficult time in my life. Sending love and prayers from Clonskeagh. A true gentleman
Sincere condolences to the family and friends of dear Archdeacon Ciaran, who , very sadly for all of his parishioners, left us for his eternal reward on May 12th. I have no doubt but that he rests in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, whom he loved deeply and whose unconditional love he knew personally. Helping all of us parishioners to be aware of God’s love for us was central to his ministry as a shepherd of his flock here in Foxrock. He was a humble, gentle priest who was so in tune with humanity and all its failings. His vision for his people of Foxrock when he arrived here in 1998 was to create a faith community where the baptiséd faithful could play an active role in creating that community. Today in 2020, the fruits of his courage and commitment, are still growing and thriving like the mustard seed of the Gospels.
I will always remember his beautiful smile, his sense of humour and above all his care and love for his fellow clergy serving in the parish. At the end of each celebration of the Eucharist he always repeated the central message of the Gospel reading in a simple sentence which we would take with us to reflect on for the following week.
At dheis De go raibh a anam dilis. . We will miss this very special priest and shepherd.
